Expert: Perry Vellenga - 11/8/2009
Question hi- our contractor was quite messy = there are large white areas on concrete driveway - i suspect of tile mortar residue - is there anyway to safely remove thanks
Answer Thank you for your question Susan,
Well to be honest Susan the best and safest way to remove this construction film is to call the Contractor back and suggest that he properly clean up his mess. Was this person licensed and insured? It should be as simple as that but if not then I would try some Dawn dishsoap and a large push broom to scrub the affected areas. If that doesn't do the trick then you can go to the next step and purchase a small tub of Sulfamic Crystals from your local Home Improvement Center and follow the directions on the back of it as this is a mild acid and will have a reaction to the cement so be prepared to spread out the Sulfamic and scrub the area and rinse. You should also have a bucket of water that has Baking Soda mixed in it so that you can easily neutralize the mild chemical reaction that the acid will generate. Ok...that's it Susan I hope this helps you with your problem, feel free to return anytime...
