Question hello i had someone install quick step laminate flooring.in one room all around the edging of the whole room it make a sound like its cracking when U step on it,it s not cracking its just the sound it makes.i did notice thou when i had them pull some boards up due to a scratch i made, they didn't bring the underlayment all the way to the edge.its maybe an inch or 2 shy away from the edge, could that be why its making those sounds when U walk on those parts?other than around the edge of the whole room it doesn't make that sound when walked on.and i notice a board in the hallway isnot completely level with the next board maybe half of it is a little higher than the board above it.it wasn't like that before i asked them to pull some boards up.canu give me anyadvice ,thanks, before i go and complain to the co that did this,
Answer It sounds like the thin pad that is usually laid under the laminate, may have a wrinkle in it...causing a krackle affect. If any part of the installation is questionable...be sure the installers FIX it. Workmanship is the criticle part of any job. You deserve to have it done right, and meet your expectations.
