Question We installed the locking ceramic tile that you just float on top of the existing floor (Lowe's 3 years ago) and the grout came in this mousse like can and you squirted it in and it dried almost like caulk instead of grout. It is light yellow and I would like a darker color. I tried grout dye this past weekend, but it did not even penetrate. Is there anything I can do to make the "grout" a darker color without digging it all up? Thank you in advance for your advice.
Dena
Answer Thank you for your question Dena,
The material in question is indeed a caulk way more than it is a grout, even though it is performing (per se') the same purpose. Consequently it will not receive a stain or a paint trying to change the color. I'm sorry Dena I'm afraid that there is little to do to remove the offending color short of cutting it out with a utility knife and a lot of elbow grease. I hope this helps you with your problem. Feel free to return anytime...
