Question
Hello,
A few months ago I dealt with a flooring company who installed ceramic tile without first removing the vinyl cushion flooring, as they had said they would. This was in the kitchen, 2 bathrooms and entry. (photo attached. What would this do to the life expectancy of the floor?
Thank you very much.
Jane

Answer
Hi Jane,

My mother's name...
As long as we are talking the same animal here (cushion)or felt back vinyl.
I have done this many times and never had issues. I did however read up and use better grade thinsets and mortars.I have never had a floor come up or release. Since you didn't mention it , what is the subfloor wood or concrete?

Chris
