Question I've recently painted my house using some water based paint products. But after I finished I noticed that there was a large amount of paint on my slate. The slate had already been sealed. However, I could not remove the paint and have tried many cleaning products as well as white spirits. How should I take the paint off?
Answer Hi Robert,
Because slate is basically in its raw state as far as the texture it is fairly easy to clean. I would use a razor scraper (widget) and scrape the paint off carefully. If you scratch the tile it will usually cover up by applying some sealer to it.
I'm not sure what sealer you used but I use "511 Seal and Enhance" by "Miracle Sealant" it will give slate a wet look bringing out the beautiful colors the slate offers. http://www.miraclesealants.com/s_511_seal_enhance.html
I hope this answer is of some help to you. Please feel free to write back with any other questions you may have.
Thank You,
