Flooring and Carpeting - saltillo stripping & resealing

Expert: Bill Hohmann - 6/24/2009

Question
You say above that you can't help with cost.  I'm trying to find out what is a fair price for stripping & resealing saltillo tile.  Can you tell me how I can find that out?  I live near Albuquerque, NM.  Thanks so much for your efforts.

Answer
I suggest you call a couple tile companies that deal in Saltillo, and ask them if they know who does that kind of work in your area.  To stip these tiles is very difficult, and easy to mess up, ruining a floor.

I have seen people charge anywhere from $3.50 a square foot to over $6.00 a square foot.

Make sure, if you are serious about hiring someone to do this, that they provide references of other floors they have done, and go look at them.
