Flooring and Carpeting - Need to seal porcelain bathroom floor tiles

Expert: Patrick Copell - 8/7/2004

Question
Hi Patrick,

I recently had my bathroom done over, and now the large (1ft)
porcelain (or possibly ceramic, but pretty sure porcelain) tiles
are starting to develop cracks along the seams. I don't know
what I need for that... can you help? I'd really appreciate any
advice you could give.

Answer
If this is old tile, then I am not quite sure why they would crack all of the sudden.

If these are new tiles, then the install was not done correctly. Usually cracking is associated with improper underlayment used.

there really is no good fix for this except reinstallation.
the tiles will continue to crack.

Good luck
