Flooring and Carpeting - carpet removal

Expert: Linda Lockwood - 11/13/2007

Question
I am trying to remove carpeting from a mobile home I just bought. I have found some of it is glued to the plywood under it. How can I possibly remove it?

Answer
There is no trick or secret to removing glued down carpet. Cut it in strips (from the face) then carefully peel it off the wood floor, strip by strip.

Pull carefully, your subfloor may be particle board, and you don't want to remove chunks of the flooring.
