Question
Being my first time doing ceramics I need to know ,with the weather being very humid , if I lay the floor on Saturday when can i step on it? I get different answers, one says two days, does it take mortar two days to set?
Thanks

Answer
Take into consideration the substrate that you are bonding to.  IF the substrate is wet/damp, this could take a whole day.  If the substrate and the ceramics are factory fresh..2 to 4 hours should be sufficient.  Mortar is a chemical reaction.  If it is put underwater ....3 days tops.   In the open air , so to speak, much quicker.  Brick on Brick mortar use is 2 hrs.  Brick on slab is 4 hrs.  If you use "thin set" it will set on floors in less than 2 hrs.
