I'd like to add to this answer:

I've had similar problems with 2 cats that stand up to urinate. The domed boxes didn't prevent it, as the urine seeps out.

What I did was, I purchased TALL storage bins...they are about 16 inches high. Even the cats that "stand" only end up urinating on the inner walls of the clear's a rubber maid one. They work so well, that I have them for all of my cats.

As long as your kitty doesn't have a problem getting into the box, it should work for you, too. And, you won't need to replace the floors/carpets as urine will not get on them.

I hope this helps.

I have same problem with our male cat. I buy Clipfile Presentation files from local newsagents. Remove coloured binder and bend back plastic to nullify crease. Place at favoured end of tray with bottom in litter for support. Urine flows down plastic into litter.

Acetate sheets do same job but are more expensive, although you can get A3 size for higher coverage.

My costs: c. 2.50 for pack of 5 and change every 4-5 days sooner if smelling.

Hope this helps you.

I also have a large male and used a plastic storage container. I need to cut a whole in the front & its been working GREAT for years.

Besides a storage bin is only 6 bucks a cat box is $15 & up
