Question
Hi
just read your previous question about Florida in August, and was interested.  We were planning a holiday in Florida in October, but have just found that August is much cheaper!  I thought August would be more expensive.  We have 2 kids and so would do the whole Disney thing, do you know if Disney is really busy in August?  We spent our honeymoon in the Keys in August 10 years ago, and the weather was great, just a little humid.  I'm sure I've read somewhere to avoid Disney in August!
Thanks for any advice!
Sally

Answer

The summer months here are always less expensive than "season," Oct through April.  This time of year even we FLorida residents get really low prices because not many tourists visit Disney and other attractions.  Expect 90-degree days.  Hot and humid.  Go for it!

Also, keep in mind August is the height of hurricane season.  That season is officialy from June through Oct.  But August and Sept are typically the highest-risk months.  SO have a backup plan.  Still, dont let this get in the way, because other than last year, the hurricane seasons  were not bad for mnay, many years.

Good luck and enjoy!
