Flute/evette flute

Question
Hi Nancy, I bought an evette flute #559295, buffet crampon, in 1974 and it has
never been played. It has been stored in the original lined, hard case since then.
It looks fine but I'm wondering if it would still be ok and be of any use to a
flautist? I would like to sell it and I would also like to know where I can get it
valued. Many thanks for this wonderful service,
Maree

Answer
Maree,

I've never heard of Evette, although I've heard of Buffet Crampon.  After being in the case for 25 years, the pads and corks are probably dried out and need to be replaced.  I wouldn't look for much in the way of selling it, but you might donate it to a school (maybe one in New Orleans which lost all its instruments) and maybe their band director can fix it and put it to some use.

Or you could try selling it on ebay.com,  explaining how old it is.
