The album Amy is looking for (well, was looking for back in 2007) is The Womenfolk, by the group of the same name, released in 1964. They were a folk quintet from Pasadena, Calif.

Contents: A1. Don't You Rock'em Daddy-O; A2. Little Rag Doll; A3. Para Bailar La Bamba; A4. One Man's Hands; A5. The Whistling Gypsy Rover; A6. Green Mountain Boys.

B1. Skip To My Lou; B2. Love Come A-Tricklin' Down; B3. Little Boxes; B4. Old Maid's Lament; B5. Rickety Tickety Tin; B6. Good Old Mountain Dew.

I haven't heard the album myself, so I don't know whether B5 is a version of Tom Lehrer's dark folk parody.

Folk Music, particularly the Child Ballads and that great body of industrial and work-related songs which arose during the Industrial Revolution. I am well-versed in the history of the Folk Revival, and I have a particular interest in political and agit-prop songs, as well as in traditional Irish dance music. For ten years I was a committee member and resident singer/song-writer/musician with the Grey Cock Folk Club in Birmingham (the pre-eminent traditional club in the English midlands, which was founded by Charles Parker of `Radio Ballad` fame).
