Subject: healthy cookies

Question
I am writing a business plan for organic healthy cookies.  My cookies are good tasting, made with whole wheat flour, flaxseed, wheat bran, fruit purees, raw cocao, etc.. so not only do they provide high fiber, protein, etc. but the ingredients have very high antioxidant values and I am in the process of researching how to have those values tested.  I have recipes that I have created in my kitchen but are not "commercialized" in order to be made in large quantities.  Some have suggested I contact a co-packager, others say a private label manufacturer, etc...  In your opinion, who should I contact to help me have my cookies made commerically?  Thank you so much.

Answer
Karen,
Good Morning.

There are others doing what you want to do. Look on the web and check out "Dr Siegel's Cookie Diet" and also the Nutri-Cookie products distributed by NFLI.

Instead of going directly to a co-packer or private label packer first, one of the above-mentioned may be willing to add your product to their lines.  In fact, there are most likely others you could find on the web who are making 'healthy' cookies and who might want to partner with you.

Let me know how you make out.
