Food Engineering/Manufacturing - marinade

Expert: Jim Pfister - 6/3/2009

Question
I am a grillmaster and have developed a marinade specifically for grilling. It is great for a number of meats not to mention a vegetable stir fry. It is an oil based marinade. I would like to partner with a large company that has a presence in major grocery stores. My product is unique and stands alone. How do I get past gate keepers so I can showcase my product. Thanks for your help! Tom in Colorado Springs

Answer
Tom,
It sounds like you need a third party with a well-known name to endorse for you. Have you tried either approaching a chef at a well-regarding local restaurant, or getting the local TV "consumer" reporter? You could also offer to do some free demonstrations, which could get you some recognition by the 'right' people.

I am intrigued by your using the title of "Grillmaster".  Is this something you've earned?  Honorary or otherwise?  If so, then I'd find a way to use it to promote myself.
