Food Safety Issues - Pork Tenderloin Safety

Expert: Carl Copeland - 1/17/2008

Question
I had pork tenderloin, in its original package in my trunk for 5 days.  The weather was cold.  I opened it and it does not smell or look funny, it is ok to braise it?

Thank you

Answer
Crestina,

How are you doing? Pork tenderloin is recommended to be stored 3-5 days in refrigeration.  If the temperature in the trunk of your car was 40 degrees Fahrenheit or below it is time to braise the meat.
