Food Safety Issues - Cooked frozen meat one year old

Expert: Carl Copeland - 2/1/2008

Question
I have cooked a beautiful piece of brisket. It tastes beautiful. Is it safe to eat?

Answer
Maurice,

How are you doing?  Cooked frozen meat should last about 2-3 months, uncooked meats such as a brisket can last up to a year. Now the question is if its safe to eat, you could eat it and enjoy it for awhile but feel the effects later. Why take a chance on something which has been frozen 3 times longer that it should be?
