Food Safety Issues - Food Safety milk

Expert: Carl Copeland - 4/19/2008

Question
I accidentally left milk outside in my car for 8 hours. The nighttime temperature
was 50-60 degrees for 4 hours, and 40 degrees for 4 hours.
Is the milk still good? Maybe it will expire earlier?

Answer
Ann Marie,

How are you doing?  Yes you did leave the milk out over 2 hours at a temperature higher than 40 degrees Fahrenheit, but I believe that the milk would be ok for consumption and your suggestion that it might expire earlier is more than likely correct.
