Question
Hi! thank you very much for taking the time to answer my question! How long can i leave a 14 pound prime rib that is unfrozen but cool to the touch,at room temperature? is 8 hours to much??? thanks again, Cory

Answer
Cory,
I apologize for my delay in resoponding to your question. It is never good to defrost meats at room temperature. You should defrost your meats in the refrigerator or by microwave. Bacteria grows at room temperature, eventhough this was practiced by my mother you know leaving items out to defrost in the morning and cooking them later. I would not throw away the prime rib myself but please keep this information in mind.
