Food Safety Issues - Quiche

Expert: Carl Copeland - 9/16/2008

Question
I cooked a quiche and refrigerated it. My daughter took it out of the fridge the next day and accidentally left it on the counter for about 2.5 - 3 hours. It was then refrigerated. Is it safe to eat?

Answer
Ed,
How are you doing?  Most foods are not recommended to be left out for more than two hours. I for one will not tell someone to throw away food unless I am positive it will not be safe. Quiche normally has dairy product in its make up. Since the quiche was cooked I believe it would be alright to eat.
