Food Safety Issues - Filet Mignon

Question
I bought 3 thick filets at Whole Foods on Sunday and have not had the chance to
cook them until today.  They seem fine, maybe a little brown but I want to make
sure they are ok to eat, they were very expensive.  You said in a previous answer
they would be ok "as long as they are cooked properly"  - what does that mean?

Answer
Rae,
How are you doing? Sorry for the delay in my response. Refrigerated beef is good for 3-5 days after purchase.  When I was referring to "as long as they are cooked properly" Imet that it should be cooked using the proper meat cooking temperature for that particular meat.  Feel free to visit these pages for more information.
