Food Safety Issues - Refrigerator left open all night

Expert: Carl Copeland - 1/20/2009

Question
What products are safe to continue and eat and what should be immediately thrown away. We have everything from your standard condiments, meat, diary products(yogurt, cheese, milk)eggs, salad, celery, carrots, etc. Please give me your best opinion to what we should throw away. Thanks.

Answer
Hello Chris,

How are you doing?  This question is kind of hard to answer because of all of the different items you are referring to. There is some things to take into consideration, what was the temperature of the opened refrigerator and some things spoil faster than other. I am sure that everything has not spoiled.  The best I can do for you is have you visit the following website

http://www.Food-Storage-Info.com

Here you will find various pages on food storage time guidelines and food storage and safety information.

Take Care,

Carl C
