Food Safety Issues - dates , the fruit

Question
Hello Carol,
I would like to know can I freeze fresh dates? If so , how?
                                               Thanks,
                                                 Paula Yousif

Answer
Hi Paula,

Yes, you can freeze dates - either whole or pureed.

Use ripe, firm dates that you first wash and then remove pits. Leave whole or puree in a blender or food mill. Pack in a freezer container, leaving 1/2 inch head space (if rigid container).

Happy Freezing!
