Food Safety Issues/pork loin left out... is it okay?

Question
Hi, I had a 4.75lb pork loin in my deep freezer.  I took it out yesterday around 10am and then it was still very frozen last night around 6pm, I accidentally left it out overnight and saw it at 7am this morning.  It was still cool to the touch but probably not "cold"... is it okay to cook & eat still or should it be tossed?
Thank you so much!

Answer
Hi Michelle,

I assume from your description that the pork loin was out of refrigeration almost 24 hours...correct?  Even if it was only out overnight, the following recommendation is the same.

Defrosting meat at room temperature is no longer recommended as harmful bacteria on the surface of the meat may multiply to dangerous levels.  While cooking would destroy any live bacteria, some bacteria have the capability of producing a harmful toxin that is not deactivated by cooking.  Thus the general recommendation for all foods capable of supporting the growth of harmful bacteria and left in the Danger Zone (40 to 140 degrees F) for over 4 hours is to not take a chance and pitch the product.

Sorry...
