Food Safety Issues/Horse meat

Question
I read a lot of controversy about eating meat with horse meat mixed in. Since I do not read about anyone getting sick or dying from eating meat mixed with horse meat, is there anything in horse meat that is dangerous to people? I read that the human body does not digest cattle meat. But nothing in the news about that.

Just wondering what your thoughts are on all of this.

Answer
Horse meat is actually sold in europe and is especially popular in France where many consider it a delicacy. I don't know anything about it being dangerous to eat or people dying from eating it. Where did you read the human body does not digest cattle meat? I doubt it was from a reputable source that can cite a scientific study. Anyone who eats beef eats cattle. There is a lot of bad information out there. By the way the meat that had horse meat in it if you are referring to burger king happened in the United Kingdom not in the USA. The supplier also processes horse meat for the european market. Burger King did not do it intentionally. Their supplier shipped them meat that contained horse meat. They are not even sure if it was done on purpose.
