Food Safety Issues/Soda

Question
Soda is very acidic and I've read it is to create a sharper taste but also the acid slows the growth of bacteria in the mouth caused by the large amount of sugar. Is there harm in reducing soda acidity by combining it with more alkaline drinks? Also is there an additive that can solidify the sugar or high fructose corn syrup so it can be mostly removed?

Also out of curiosity what did you do for pizza hut and taco bell?

Answer
There isn't any harm reducing soda's acidity by combining with more alkaline drinks. Acidity does slow the growth of bacteria but I'm not aware of any additive that will solidify the sugar or corn syrup to remove it. If you did you would take away the sweetness that...well... makes soda, soda. You would end up with soda water! great question James.
