Food Safety Issues/Chuck Roast

Question
We buy our meat by the 1/4 cow.  Last Sept. we bought 1/4 cow in different forms (ground beef, steaks, and chuck roasts).  We then put the beef in a deep freeze and use it when we need/want to. Tonight I unthawed a chuck roast and while cutting it, it had an order of vomit.  I am pregnant and my sense of smell is on override.  I have never liked the smell of raw meat, so I excused it to that.  I cooked it in a stew for over an hour, we ate it and it tasted fine.  Now I am worried, because the smell is still lingering and my husband even notices it.  Did I eat bad meat, and if so now what will happen?

Answer
Nicole,
Oh how I remember when my wife was pregnant she could smell everything. I don't think you have anything to worry about if the meat was frozen and within the guidelines for eating and storing meat.  When you ate the stew it seemed fine and you did not mention it smelled while you were eating it. Just make sure that you check out http://www.food-storage-info.com/meatstorage.html if you have any other concerns.
Take Care,
