Food Safety Issues - Lasagne

Expert: Carol Schlitt - 8/4/2006

Question
Can I refreeze Lasagne after it has been cooked from frozen ?bki

Answer
Hi Heather,

Sorry for the delay in answering your question -- computer problems and just got back up working today.

Yes -- you can refreeze cooked lasagna -- or any cooked meat product if you like.  Just remember, freezing, thawing, cooking and refreezing do not improve the quality (flavor, texture, etc) of the food.  It is safe -- just not as desirable as the first time around.
