Food Safety Issues/Microwave Safe Items

Question
I have a set of wooden bowls, and i was wondering if they are microwave safe, or not. They are all 100% wood (i have some that are oak [i think] and others that are "Monkey Pod") are they safe to use in a Microwave Oven?

Answer
Hi Anthony,

Wood should not be used in the microwave as it promotes dryng, cracking and ultimately the demise of the wood.  You should also not put wood in the dishwasher or allow it to soak in water.

I hope this helps. Please let me know if I can be of further assistance,

Sincerely,
