Question I have a jar of organic peanut butter in my closet that says best used by march 2006. How long can i keep this product. Is it safe to use now? Please let me no. Thank You.
Answer Hi Robert,
Manufacturer's often put "best if used by" dates to let the consumer know that for maximum freshness and quality, use the product by this date. The product is still safe to use after that date, just that the quality and the product (flavor, color, texture etc.)may begin to change making the product less desirable.
Check to see if you notice any flavor, color or texture changes. If so -- I'd pitch.
Hope this answers your question. If you should have additional questions please let me know.
Happy Thanksgiving.
