Question Hi! My wife was cooking some porkchops and mushroom soup in a pan, when she forgot to grease the pan. When cooked, the grey coating of the pan was on the porkchops-perhaps teflon? Would it be safe to just scrape off the paint or teflon and eat them? Hated to waste good food. THANKS! (from another AllExpert-Cameras, space exploration, and music)
Answer Hi Kenneth,
Peeling teflon? If that is the case you should definately not eat the food. It is recommended that if the teflon coating on pans becomes scratched you should stop using the pan as the chemical bond has been broken and can leach into the food.
So....if it is truly teflon then my answer is no.
Sorry....
