Food Safety Issues/Shipping Honey Bake Ham

Question
How many days can a Honey Baked Ham sit on a truck and still be safe to eat?

Answer
Hi Mel,

Fresh, cooked hams that are shipped should be refrigerated the whole time during transit. Most pre-cooked hams sold in the US are shipped frozen yet still try to make delivery within 48 hours to ensure freshness and safety of the product.

Most companies that ship cooked hams have a 2 day delivery schedule. In other words from the company to the recipient within 48 hours. For warm states they recommend overnight delivery to ensure safety of the product.

I hope this answers your question. If you should have additional questions, please let me know.

Happy New Year.
