Question Hello! I'm not sure if I'm asking the "right" expert, but here goes. I've used cooking spray on my pancake/waffle griddle and now there's this awful residue that I can't get off. I've tried soaking in Dawn and using soft "scrubbies" on it, but to no avail. I no longer use cooking sprays on my "good" pans and things, but I'd like to salvage my pancake/waffle griddle. Any suggestions what I should use to remove the residue without ruining the black, "non-stick" surface? I've thought about soaking the griddles in a bleach solution as a last resort, but I thought I'd check here first. Thanks for ANY suggestions you can give me. Linda
Answer Hello Linda,
Linda you are one of the few people who ask me what to do before they do it, and I do have a good answer for you. This stuff is so good I can hardly believe it no mater how much I use it, and it is DeSolVit. This is a citrus product that you can get at Wal-Mart. You will have to look very carefully in the isle where they keep the Tarnex, Resolve and stuff like that. It comes with a paper cardboard covering over the sprayer and you can stand and stare right at it and not see it for some reason. But eventually you will be able to spot it two isles down. It cost about $3.69 and worth every penny of that cost. I used to ruin all my clothes when I cooked by getting grease splattered on them, but now all I have to do is spray once one little spray and it is gone and does not hurt the color. It is safe for skin and hair as well. Recently my cat had to have an operation and they put a patch on him after shaving his fur. When the patch was removed I assumed the fur would grow back without any trouble. Last night I discovered all this sticky gooey stuff where the patch had been I sprayed the area and washed it off, all the glue came off at once.
You know those toaster ovens and how bad they can get, well mine looks brand new because I sprayed mine with the DeSolVit let it stand overnight and used a stainless steel scrubber and it all came off all the stuff that was burnt on came off it all looks so great. It is such a great joy to have a product around like this. I lived here in Phoenix for fifteen years and never knew about it; it is manufactured right near here in a town called Gilbert, and they have benn manufacturing it for thirty five years. Good Luck, I know without a doubt that this is what you need, if it does not work let me know. I will send you some stuff that I make that will and is harmless to you and the environment, just email me at maryhughescole@yahoo.com and I will respond to any thing you want of me I know a lot of stuff we do a lot of research in the field of health and nutrition and about diseases. I have fifty five years of experience in the kitchen. Mary
