Question I cooked a spiral ham on Friday. Can I use it to make split pea and ham soup safely if I make it today? How long is the opened, cooked ham good before spoilage.
Thanks,
Pattie
Answer Hi Pattie,
Yes -- you can make split pea and ham soup safely with ham that has been cooked and refrigerated for 3-5 days. Since you baked the ham Friday -- you can safely use the ham through Wednesday. After today, you should freeze the ham and use it within 2-3 months.
Hope your soup is delicious!
