Question I recently left store bought hummus out over night. I put it in the fridge when I woke up, but I'm not sure if it's already bad. Should I throw it out?
Answer Hi Lindsey,
I'm sorry but pitch it. You actually could get botulism because of the moisture content. Food should be stored at 41 degrees or below. By the time 4 hours rolls around, you need to rapid cool, or throw away. I know store bought hummus has some additives to help maintain freshness but I just would not feel comfortable telling you it's safe. Too bad..artichoke and garlic is my fave :)....Lynn
