Food Safety Issues - pumpkin pie storage

Expert: Carl Copeland - 11/19/2007

Question
we bought a pumpkin pie and left it on the counter for a day and a half before we say the sign that said refrigerate after purchase. is it still good ? my wife wants to throw it away.

jay

Answer
Jay,
You know the wife is always right. The grocery store or bakery is not going to keep those pies out long, so when they say refrigerate after purchase there is a reasoning behind that, don't take a chance and ruin your Thanksgiving by being sick. For more information visit
