Question I started buying bottled water because it seemed to taste better. As an experiment, after I had finished a bottle I refilled it with tap water and put it back in the refrigerator. And I discovered that it still tasted good, so the conclusion I reached is that I like drinking chilled water directly out of the plastic bottles. My question is, if it's just me drinking out of these refilled bottles, how often do I need to wash out the bottles with hot water and dish detergent, if at all. Thanks.

Please understand that anything that I tell you here is for your benefit and not meant to hurt your feelings in any way. It is my objective to answer your question; and as well to teach you all that I can, those things pertaining to the question, so that you will be well informed and knowledgeable about whatever appears to be the need.
First, I would like mention something about water. It never hurts to be knowledgeable about water. In fact knowledge about water is something very few people are.
The water molecule is unusual in the fact that it can collect or attract things such as minerals of all kinds. To look at this in a broader scope, these minerals can, some, be good, and some, be bad; some minerals have bacteria adhered to them. These bacteria are actually eating or decaying the mineral. That is how metals break down. It is bacteria common to or bacteria that like that metal that is responsible for breading down that metal.
There are two precious metals that few bacteria like, Silver and Gold. Silver is famous for killing thousands of different kinds of bacteria or germs. That is why people used to throw silver coins into the water fountain; it helped kill bacteria, they, did this, thousands of years ago.
Gold is another precious metal that bacteria cannot destroy. Gold can remain pure in any condition. It only has one substance, an acid that can break it down. Of course, heat can be used to change the structure of anything, but it does not decay the gold.
The reason I am mentioning this is that if metals can adhere to water and bacteria can adhere to metals then it is reasonable to believe that bacteria can be present in water, even if none were introduced to the water they come by way of the metals that are attracted to the water molecule.
There are terms like hungry water that are used among water people. Once this water molecule has become full, then anything else that is induced into the eater cannot become part of the water molecule. For instance, if you are adding chlorine to water you can only put a little amount because there is already present so many minerals that the chlorine will only stay suspended outside of the water molecule. Then when you jump into the water the chlorine goes into you. The purpose of the chlorine was not to go into you but to purify the water. This is a feeble attempt to purify water. The reason people do this in this way is because pure water tends to attract any thing it can along the way and if put into metal pipes it will literally eat up the pipes. It does not really eat the pipe it dissolves the pipe because the metals would rather be in the water. It is called the law of greater attraction. It happens throughout science, even in nature. There are other ways to get pure water in a swimming pool. Passing a small stream of water through electrified current or silver is one, and using Ultra Violet Rays are another.
There are many ways bacteria get into water; the moment they do, they do not leave and began to multiply at a very rapid rate. Water is an excellent environment for bacteria. Air is another. Once water and air come into contact, bacteria are in the water, that fast. Once in there the water is not safe to drink.
The water molecule can hold only so much of these metals before it can hold no more. This kind of water is very hard because of all these metals in the water. When you purify water for drinking all of these metals are removed as well as the bacteria. It is reasonable to believe if all of the metals are gone and all of the bacteria are gone and nothing is left but the water molecule then the water can be considered pure. It was once believed that we needed these kinds of minerals to be healthy. But when you consider how much bacteria can also come with this kind of water, it is not reasonable to believe that this water is safe.
There are natural waters in the world that contain proper balance of minerals and are also not know to harbor disease or uncommon bacteria. One of these sources is Artesian water. Artesian water is prized throughout the world as the finest water in the world, and you can buy it at places like Trader Joe's. It is so good that is will correct an acid condition of the stomach. This water is also found in Philadelphia. Over the years my studies have lead me to learn that these people have larger and more dense bones than other people. The reason being that they can drink the water that the city supplies to them. We can also absorb minerals from our water and chemicals, so it is even more understandable that these people are also absorbing all the minerals they need from this healthy water.
Some cities have good water and some do not.
Unless you know what kind of water, you have available to you, and know, others, have drank this water, and thrived from it, then you should not drink it at all unless you know this to be a fact. If everyone in your town is drinking the water and they are still healthy, it is reasonable to believe that the water is safe. If they are all buying water, it is reasonable to believable that you should also buy your water.
I do not know if there is still Artesian water in Philadelphia, but if there were it would be reason enough to live there. My husband comes from there and is a runner. He is one of the healthiest people I have ever known. He grew up drinking this wonderful water. We now live in a town where they do not even have any water. This is desert country and we have to have our water piped from a long distances. By the time, it gets here it as to be processed. I do not thrive well with chlorine in my stomach because it is a poison, so I prefer to buy water.
When water is purified, everything is removed. You will need to find another way to replenish the natural minerals to your diet if you drink water purified. Real fruit s a very good source. Be sure to wash and clean the fruit first.
Most animals like their water chilled. Most people like their water chilled, this is reasonable. That is how many soda pop companies make billions of dollars every year. No one likes soda pop hot unless it is freezing and it is a Dr Pepper. So, by all means, chill your water.
Now this business of drinking out of the bottle, you do not really have to be told that this is unsanitary. Your mouth contains some deadly bacteria. Once your mouth touches the bottle, these bacteria enter the bottle and began to bread in the water and the bottle.
Plastic is an unsafe molecule, in that it is not stable, like that of stainless steel. That means the molecules sort of floats off or around. They do not stay in one place. This makes what ever is made out of the plastic an unsafe environment for food or water. The Only way to keep plastic stable is to keep it cold. This still does not make it safe. And it will never be safe as long as it is used. That means once bacteria has met it, it is used. The bacteria can get down into the plastic and never be gotten out. The same holds true with any substance you put into the plastic. Whatever goes into the plastic stays in there.
You do not have to take my word for this. I am referring you to a book written by a scientist, who will elaborate even more on this and how chemicals all around us are the culprits responsible for creating a failed immune system.
There is a water bottle that you can buy for your refrigerator that as a spout on it for releasing cold water into your glass. Get yourself a real glass, keep it clean, once you use the glass, immediately wash the glass, do not leave it sitting around the kitchen and do not reuse it again until washing. Throw away whatever kind of plastic jug you have been drinking out of, for good. You do not need to continue this as you realize now how dangerous it is to your health. If you never drink out of this new kind of container and refill it with purified water then it could last a year. But remember when you refill something air is getting into the water as you refill, so use a system of refilling where the water does not come into contact with the water. Some people do not refill but just replace. If you like to use your tap water then use a large glass container for the refrigerator, you will like the taste even better. Keep the glass container closed tightly and never leave it sitting out or open. Remember once air comes into contact with water bacteria begins to grow.
After years of doing this, I am concerned that you may have been ingesting some serious bacteria into your system. These bacteria can be causing you health problems that you are completely unaware of having. The most common problem of course would be the stomachache. This is our bodies' way of telling us that we have eaten something bad and not to do it again. If it continues, we must do something for ourselves and often if this condition persists, we will find that later in life we might have damaged our liver or kidneys. Bacteria continuously induced into our systems can eventually kill us or make us wish we were dead. We can be inducing so many bacteria into our systems that sever pain is the result and nothing can change the result. We do not want to be guilty of doing something like this to our bodies. Although you may be able to deal with a certain percent of bacteria as a younger person, the older we get the more toxins build up in our bodies and the less likely we are to deal with these kind, of bacteria.
Many people believe that a few germs will not hurt you. Maybe not if they are harmless ones. How do you know which ones are the harmless ones. They are not like worms that we can see and choose. So, we must eliminate all of them, to be safe.
The book called, Eat Well For Optimum Health, by Dr Andrew Weil, is the best book I know about on how to learn about foods and which kinds of oils and foods contribute to good health. You will find this book very helpful and informative. As a researcher, I have researched thousands of books and you can take my work for it, this man knows what he is talking about. We hear and see many books but not all of them really know the truth. Opinion is what many are made from and not much real fact, test, or knowledge. His book is world-renowned and the best of its kind.
Another book concerning health and food that has saved thousands upon thousands of lives not only here but also worldwide is, The Cure For All Cancers, by Hulda Clark. She also wrote, The Cure For All Diseases, The Cure For HIV And Aids, as well as her latest book, The Cure For All Advanced Cancers.
Hulda Clark, is a naturopathic doctor and a scientist, in the books she has written she explains in detain how to cook and care for yourself pertaining to disease. She has a clinic in Tijuana, Mexico where they cure thousands of people of cancer and other diseases every day. Her book saved my life from deadly skin cancer in 1996, after I contracted a deadly parasite from swimming in a lake.
Her research is well in advance of most research today, I do have many books that back up everything she has said as the truth. One is written by Upjohn and is called Pathoparasitology. This book shows full color slides of horrible parasites. These parasites are the cause of all diseases according to her book, and this book. This book and many others I have. She explains in her books how to clean your house of all chemicals that damage the immune system, and how to build a zapper that will rid your body every day of all viruses, bacteria, and parasites. Everyone should have this book and everyone who does exactly what she advises will keep themselves and their family free of diseases, including all the deadly ones.
