Answer Dear Paul:
If you and your dad have never been an owner/operator of a food service establishment my advice to you would be: DON'T DO IT! 9 out of 10 restaurants go out of business within the first two years. There is so much to know about this industry that entreprenuers take for granted or go about naively.
You and your dad would be better off investing your money in the stock market or going to a casino and putting it on either "red" or "black": at least that way you have a 50/50 chance of being successful.
That is my best advice to you.
Sincerely,
Brian
