Question
Hi, my name is cedryk
and im a freshman just about to start football in few days
iv played Wr. pretty much my whole life playing football
and i partly play Saftey last year and got interested in playing that postion
so this would be my second time playing it

im around 5'3 5'4 and 120 pounds
im a little above average speed not much tho
i can jump pretty high but im not described having "Hops" haha
but i did notice i can squat better then alot of kids my size and weight
a max of about 250
now would that help in the saftey postion?

and last if you could just give me some tips on playing that postion
it would really help

Thank You,
Cedryk

Answer
Playing good safety requires being a good tackler.  You are the last person in the defense, if the runner gets by the linebackers you have to make the tackle or you will give up a touchdown.  You also must never let any receiver get behind you.  A good safety helps his corners out, and makes sure passes don't go over the top.  GOOD LUCK THIS SEASON COACH NOEL!
