Question While watching NFL football, you will often see the quarterback looking at his wristband which lists plays...
I am curious since many plays are sent in from the coach..
is this an electronic wristband that a signal from the coach lights up the play he wants called...I have never heard of this but just came to me once that they must have this kind of wrist band reciever..???
Thanks rolfe
Answer The coach will send in codewords that indicate what play he should look at on the wrist band. It is not an electric wristband at this time. The Quarterback has a microphone and receiver in his helmet from which he talks to the coaching staff. I think it gets cut off with 10 or 20 seconds left on the play clock.
NFC coaches call all plays unless a Quarterback audibles into another play, or they are in a hurry up offense and there is no time to send in plays.
