About Steve
Expertise
I can answer both college and pro football questions with some skill, although I am a little better on the pro game. My top areas of knowledge would be firsts, records and team leaders.

Experience
For the last three years, I have run a weekly trivia game on AOL for some of the top trivia players in the country. I am also one of the groups' top players.

Question
If a player catches a ball well in bounds, but hops out of bounds, without his second foot (or any other body part) hitting the turf, is it a catch?

Answer
Hi John,

According to your parameters, that would not be a catch.  If no other body part hits the ground, a player must get both feet down in bounds for the catch to be considered legal.  The only exception is if the referees rule that the receiver would have come down in bounds if not pushed out by a member of the defensive team before his feet hit the ground.

John, thanks for asking and I hope this helps.
