Question
On a 2000 Ranger with a 4.0 what else do I need other than the valve cover gasket to change the gasket on the left side of the motor ,and is this job a nightmare

Answer
this is a pain in the butt.the book calls for 2.1 hrs.you have to remove the upper intake so make sure you get a gasket foRemoval


Remove the upper intake manifold.remove the oil level indicator tube.
Remove the valve cover and the gasket.
Installation
Note: Clean and inspect the scaling surfaces. Apply a bead of silicone rubber in two places.
Use Gasket and Sealant F7AZ-19554-EA or equivalent meeting Ford specification WSE-M4G323-A4.
Install the valve cover gasket, valve cover, and the bolts.
Tighten in the sequence

Install the oil level indicator tube.
Install the upper intake manifold.
