Question My ford f150 tension pulley or ideler pull is making noise how do i determine which one? how to replace it if bad.
Answer need a little more info, year engine size, but if you remove the serptine or V-belts (depending on year),take each pully and spin it, it should turn smoothly with no grinding or squealing. grasp it and try to rock it up or down, it should have very little to no play in it. if you find one that wobbles bad or feels like it sticks when you spin it, thats the one you replace first. to replace it remove the center bolt and swap out the old pulley for the new one.
