Ford - Radiator leak

Expert: Ken Surerus - 4/1/2005

Question
I have a 1997 Ford Ranger with 63000 Mi.  I am leaking fluid from the opening on the top of the radiator because there is a small chip out of the surface where the cap seals.  Is there a product available to make a repair on the radiator?

Thanks,  Mike

Answer
Mr. Trem,

The best stuff that I am aware of, other than welding, is called Marinetex. You can find that in any boat shop or marine store. It has a high enough heat rating that it can withstand the high temperatures of the radiator. Hope that this helps and if you need further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me. Good luck.

Ken
