Question
i have a 93 ford ranger 2.3l 5 speed it has 90000km on it..im burnig about a guart of oil every tank of gas whick i get 350/380km on a tank...its not leaking anywhere we can see.. it is blowing abit white smoke when i first start the truck.. i took it to a garage they fushed my engine changed my oil,pcv velve.my thermostate,plugs,wires, they ran thicker oil nothing seems to be working..and my gas milage has gone down i used to get about 450 per tank ..i was wondering if you had any ideas about what i could do to fix the problem i would appretiate any info thank you

It sounds like you need your engine rebuilt. The smoke on start up sounds like you have bad rings and I would almost bet that you have bad or burnt valves. You could get a good engine from a reputable salvage yard which would be cheaper than a rebuild on your engine. The rebuild will run you around 2 grand and getting a good engine from a reputable salvage yard will cost you about half that.
