Question
My truckis a 1991 Ford Ranger XLT and it  tries to start but will not. There are two coils which bothg have been replaced. one is for ignition and one for exaust.Only one has spark and that is the one on the left side while facing the front of the truck. I have also tried a new brain but that did not seem to help. I f there are any ideas that you may suggest they would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time.

Answer
Mr. Long,

It sounds like you have a problem in the ignition system somewhere. I am thinking that you either have a problem in the coils or in the distributor. Your best bet would be to go to Auto Zone or Advanced Auto and borrow a scan tool (they loan them, for free, if you leave your driver's license) and hook it up to your vehicle to find out exactly where the problem lies. Hope that this helps and if you need further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me. Good luck.

Ken
