Question I am trying to piece back a missing parking brake assembly. What is the function of the 10" spreader bars. It seems I will need a left side and right side? Thanks for your assistance.
Answer Not sure about the part you are asking about. There is a flat bar between the rear brake shoes that transfers the parking brake action to spread the shoes, maybe this is the one? Each rear brake has one, but they are generic, not side specific. These bars go between the shoes near the upper end, slots in the shoes indicate where they fit, as well as around the park brake lever that is attached to the cable.
