Question How do I repair the gear indicator so the truck will pass ME state inspection? Do I have to remove the steering column?
Answer You should not have to remove the column. The most common failure is the very small cable housing breaks, usually near the indicator. Removing the trim will allow access, and you may have to remove the cluster if it is a one piece assembly, on some you can replace just the cable.
