Question
I have this 3.8 tbird and my oil is full but when I get to a stop light the check engine light comes on and the oil sensor dips to low and flickers back n forth. Soon as I take off again pressure is back up and light goes off. Ive rechecked oil a few times,hot,cold,running.. all situations seem to show full on dipstick. any help would greatly be appreaciated. thanks Rob

Answer
Rob-

Even if it's full the oil pump may not be providing enough pressure at idle.  My guess is that, when the engine is cruising or accelerating, the pressure is high enough to not trip the light.  Then when you come to a stop the pressure drops too low and causes the light to come on.  It sounds to me like you'll need to have your oil pump replaced.  Hope this helps.
