Question The 1997 Expedition that I bought new on 12/24/1996. The car has 130000 miles and the wipers and windows stopped working on the same day. All of the fuses are good and relays have been checked by interchanging. Where else do I look? My other problem is the Check Engine light is on and the engine is missing.
Answer One thing in common with the wipers and windows is the GEM module, checking for codes in this module might help narrow the diagnostics for you.
If the CEL is on and engine missing, you need to have PCM codes checked to see if there are misfire codes. Depending on which engine you have, could be worn out plugs, bad plug wires, or bad coils if it is a 5.4 engine.
